Philip C. Sneed Producing Artistic Director
Mr. Sneed joined the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in 2006 after serving for 12 years as artistic director of The Foothill Theatre Company/Sierra Shakespeare Festival, based in Nevada City, California, and also producing in Incline Village, Nevada as the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. As a director, Sneed’s recent work includesHamlet, The Little Prince, Around the World in 80 Days and A Child’s Christmas in Wales for CSF, The Lion in Winter for the Arvada Center, To Kill a Mockingbird and A Raisin in the Sun (starring Steve Harris of the ABC series “The Practice”) for the Sacramento Theatre Company, and over 20 productions for The Foothill Theatre Company. Philip’s professional acting credits include three seasons at CSF in the late 1970s (when he was a student at CU), as well as productions at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre, Atlanta's Alliance Theatre Company, the Indiana Repertory Theatre and multiple seasons with the Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival; he also played the title role in CSF's 2008 production of Macbeth, and appeared recently in Guys and Dolls with Hal Linden (TV's Barney Miller). Sneed initiated a cultural exchange program with the Maxim Gorky Theatre of Vladivostok, Russia, which has so far resulted in seven projects, including a bilingual Hamlet in Russia (in which Sneed played the title role) and a new adaptation of Dracula, which he directed at the Gorky. Sneed recently served two terms as President of the Shakespeare Theatre Association of America. Timothy Orr Tim has been with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival as a performer since 2007, and joined the staff in 2011. As an actor he has appeared at numerous theatres across California and was a resident artist with The Foothill Theatre Company, creating over 20 roles onstage, while writing, composing and producing theatre with artists from all over the world. For three years he was the General Manager of The Sacramento Ballet and produced their first international tour to China. In production and touring, he has worked for the Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Phoenix symphonies with such artists as Yefim Bronfman, Sarah Chang, Hilary Hahn, Yo-Yo Ma, Midori, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Andras Schiff, Wynton Marsalis and Doc Severinson. He has held lecturer positions in classical acting, voice, and musical theatre at the University of California at Davis (where he created the UC Davis Summer Musical Theatre Intensive), University of Colorado (Boulder), and was a faculty member of the Berkeley Repertory School of Theatre (CA) for two years. He holds degrees in music and arts management from Cal State Sacramento, an MFA in theatre from the University of California at Davis, and was Fellow with the League of American Orchestras. Carrie is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC) and alumni of the Burt Reynolds Institute for Theatre Training (FL). Life as an actress included two summers performing on Ellis Island in Ellis Island Stories, a notable stint as one of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, Southeast regional acclaim for her portrayal of Maureen in The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and a national nod for Artie in Eleemosynary. Her most memorable role was that of Germaine in Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Thanks to Steve Martin, she met her husband and ultimately took on the life-changing role of "mama" to her son and daughter. Life as an actress has been followed by an Associate's in accounting and a Bachelor's in business management. Carrie started her career at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2008 as an Area Accountant in the department of Accounting and Business Support. She is thrilled to be here at CSF, where life has somehow come full circle. Clay Evans joined the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in January 2012. A long-time columnist for the Boulder, Colo. Daily Camera newspaper, he also has worked as a journalist for the Los Angeles Times, Orange County Register and other publications, and served as Development Director and Interim Executive Director for the Longmont Humane Society. He grew up in Boulder and is a graduate of Boulder High School and the University of California, Santa Cruz. He lives in Niwot, Colorado with his family. Teresa Chamberland
Teresa started in January 2010 as the Director of Development. She has spent the last three years working in development at University of Colorado in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School. Prior to this, Teresa was the development director for the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County. Teresa also has been a grants writer for the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and a reporter for the Houston Chronicle. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Houston. She left Texas in 2003 to come to the Centennial State. Janet Hildebrandt
Janet joined CSF in August of 2011. Originally from Michigan, she moved to Boulder from New York City in her twenties to join the Nancy Spanier Dance Theater. She performed with local modern dance companies for several years and started Cuisine Art Personal Chef and Catering, as well as a bookkeeping service. After juggling family life and two businesses for years, she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in English/Education from Regis University. Following a brief stint as a High School English teacher she returned to the business world in 2006. She is thrilled to be part of CSF’s administrative team. Kerry Cripe
Kerry holds an M.F.A. in Technical Theatre from Florida State University and a B.F.A. from the University of Evansville, Indiana. He has been teaching technical theatre on the university level for nine years and is currently a technical director and senior instructor for the University of Colorado at Boulder. Some of Kerry's other professional credits include five seasons at the New Harmony Theatre in New Harmony, Indiana, and eight seasons at the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City, Utah. Pam Johnson is from Ft. Worth, Texas, where she was a U.S. Postal Service employee for 15 years. She now works for the University of Colorado at Boulder's box office as the Colorado Shakespeare Festival's Box Office Co-Manager. Amanda Giguere
A Massachusetts native, Amanda joined CSF in 2004 as a graduate student, and became a full-time staff member in 2011. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Theatre from the University of Colorado in Theatre History and Criticism, and has taught undergraduate courses at CU Boulder, the University of Northern Colorado and Lingnan University. Her book, The Plays of Yasmina Reza on the English and American Stage, was published in 2010. She completed her undergraduate work at Trinity College (CT) in Theatre and French, taught in Hong Kong for two years, and has worked with Curious Theatre, Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, Rebel Shakespeare Company, North Shore Music Theatre, and Cleveland Play House. Greg Thorson
In addition to his duties as Assistant to the General Manager and Casting Associate, Gregory Thorson was the Dramaturg/Assistant Director on recent productions All’s Well That Ends Well, Love’s Labour’s Lost, and as the Assistant Director on The Two Gentleman of Verona. A PhD student at CU, Thorson worked professionally directing in New York City, at NYU, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Abingdon Theatre and Vital Theatre. He is a member of Lincoln Center’s Directors Lab.
