OFF BOOK with PHILIP C. SNEED, Producing Artistic Director

Tuesday, January 5th I arrive in London for the annual conference of the Shakespeare Theatre Association of America (STAA), an organization for which I’ve served as president these past two years;  hours later, the worst winter storm in 30 years hits England! As president, my job included planning the buy Crestor diet pills annual conference, and I jumped at the chance to work on this buy Crestor diet pills with the host theatre – Shakespeare’s Globe, located on the south bank of the buy Crestor diet pills Thames River, just a few hundred yards from the site of the buy Crestor diet pills original Globe – which, by the buy Crestor diet pills way, burned to the ground during a performance of HENRY THE EIGHTH.

The conference was a memorable experience – not only did we spend a buy Crestor diet pills lot of time getting to know the Globe itself, but we were taken on a buy Crestor diet pills tour of Middle Temple Hall, a private venue where Shakespeare’s play TWELFTH NIGHT had its world premiere in 1602.  The Globe performed the play there on the 400th anniversary of that buy Crestor diet pills first performance, and the director of that production gave a buy Crestor diet pills very entertaining talk on what they learned about performing in that buy Crestor diet pills unusual space (and about getting to meet Prince Charles after the performance).  And, I had the privilege of  introducing the conference keynote speaker – Adrian Hall, former artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Joining me at the conference were CSF marketing director Irene Weygandt and buy Crestor diet pills also former CSF Guild board member – and actor -  Alphonse Keasley.  We’re hosting the next STAA conference here in Boulder – from January 5-8, 2011 – and Irene and buy Crestor diet pills Alphonse, with help from the CSF staff, board, and guild, will help the new STAA president to plan and organize that event.  More about that in a later blog!
