Shakespeare in the Schools Tour

A Midsummer Night's Dream: Spring 2010

A combination of live performance and hands-on workshops is an excellent way to introduce your students to the major ideas behind Shakespeare's language, and to get them excited about the Bard.

During our highly popular 2009 Hamlet tour, 97% of students polled wanted CSF to return.  This spring, CSF Education partners with the CU-Boulder Department of Theatre and Dance to bring one of Shakespeare's best-beloved plays to local schools.

This 45-minute version of A Midsummer Night's Dream is presented at your school by our troupe of CU actors—condensing Shakespeare's comedy to a fast-paced, rollicking production that is guaranteed to excite your students about Shakespeare.

Immediately following each performance, the audience has an opportunity to ask the actors questions in a short, informal "talkback."

Our five actors then split up to conduct hands-on workshops with your students in small groups.

Appropriate for grades 4-12, this program includes:

  • one performance
  • a audience talkback
  • 5 workshops
  • a study guide

Cost: $550

Dates and Times: February 1 - April 30, 2010

  • Monday and Wednesday mornings (Boulder area schools)
  • Friday mornings and afternoons (Schools outside of Boulder)

Morning programs begin at 9 am; Afternoon programs begin at Noon.

Note: No performances available the week of March 22-26.
