Now in its tenth year, this day camp, held on-site at CSF’s facilities on the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado, is a lively and challenging 3-week summer program focusing on the skills needed for acting Shakespeare. Participants also take a variety of workshops ranging from costuming, vocal production, stage combat, and movement. Each class will prepare a short Shakespeare performance, based on their in-class work, to present at the CSF Green Show and at the Camp Shakespeare Performance Extravaganza during the final week of camp. The Performance Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, August 9 at noon, and will conclude with farewell reception.
CSF Education will offer three separate classes (15 students max per class) for Camp Shakespeare 2008: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The beginner and intermediate classes meet in the mornings from 9:30-12:30, and the advanced class meets in the afternoons from 1-4. Enrollment into the advanced class is by audition only.
How Do I Figure Out Which Class I Should Be In?
Beginner: ages 10-13. For students who are excited about theater and Shakespeare. No experience required.
Intermediate: ages 13-16. For students with previous acting and some experience with Shakespeare .
Advanced: ages 15-18*. For students with a good deal of acting and/or Shakespeare experience. An audition is required to qualify for admittance. This is a master level class for highly focused and self-motivated actors. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, April 23 (Will's birthday!) in the Old Main Chapel on the CU Boulder campus.
