AdulT Classes

The Department of Theatre & Dance offers classes in conjunction with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. The Summer Session classes for non-degree students (high-school age and above) are given through the Department of Continuing Education. Begin your registration process online for any of the classes listed below by going to Summer Session 2008. Refer to the specific course and section numbers listed below when calling about the CSF class that interests you.

Beginning Acting - THTR 1003 - 3 semester hours

Teaches the basic principles of acting for those with no previous acting experience, focusing on relaxation, concentration, improvisation, use of imagination, actions, objectives, initial monologue and scene work, and basic terms and concepts of process work for the actor.

Introduction to Theatre - THTR 1009 - 3 semester hours

Introduces the varieties of theatrical art, past and present, contributions of the various theatrical artists to the total production and the place of theatre art in today's society. Designed for non-majors. Approved for Arts and Sciences core curriculum: Literature and the Arts.

Shakespeare Behind the Scenes (Not available Summer 2005) - THTR 4047 - 3 semester hours

Detailed study of script analysis, directing concepts, staging and criticism of the plays being produced by the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Students will be required to attend some rehearsals in addition to the regular class schedule.
