NEWS CSF statement on ticket-vendor security breach

June 28, 2013

Colorado Shakespeare Festival patrons who have used credit cards to purchase tickets may have received notice from Vendini, Inc. regarding a security breach detected on April 25, 2013. Personal information, including credit-card information, may have been exposed as a result. Vendini reports that patrons who purchased tickets after April 25 have not been affected.

CSF contracted with Vendini to provide ticketing and credit-card payment processing for the 2011-2013 seasons. Vendini has notified CSF that it is working closely with federal law-enforcement agencies. In addition, Vendini has initiated an internal investigation to determine how the breach occurred.

CSF is in the process of bringing in a new ticket vendor to replace Vendini for the 2014 season.

CSF has no information about whether any patron’s credit-card information has been used fraudulently. If you suspect there has been unauthorized use of your card, report it immediately to the financial institution that issued the card. Under federal law, cardholders have limited liability for unauthorized use of a credit card if it is reported in a timely manner.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have asked Vendini to keep us informed and will continue to monitor the situation on behalf of our valued patrons.
