MacB: The Macbeth Project
San Francisco's African-American Shakespeare Company gives a new beat to a timeless tragedy. MacB is set to music and choreographed to the rhythms of the spoken word. Macbeth is reincarnated as a record industry mogol, and his struggle is the battle to become the top dog in the music biz. The production touches the destructive and violent aspects of the music industry and how the promise of riches, fame, and power can lure a gifted, honorable man driven by passion and desire to destruction.
One night only: Friday, August 1, 8:30 p.m., Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre
All seats: general admission.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)
Three local Shakespeare clowns (and members of the CSF core acting company), Geoffrey Kent, Matt Mueller, and Stephen Weitz, guide you on a zany ride through each and every Shakespeare play (and perhaps a few sonnets!) in somewhere around two hours. This fast-moving, knee-slapping comedy celebrates the Bard's oeuvre and CSF's 50th anniversary!
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) is a collaborative project of the Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company and the Colorado Shakespeare Festival.
Two nights only: Monday, August 4 & 11, 7:30 p.m., University Theatre, Main Stage (indoor)
All seats: general admission. |
