Tina Packer

Ms. Packer is the Founding Artistic Director of Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Mass. There she has directed more than 50 Shakespeare productions, as well as new works including the world premieres of The Taster and Ice Glen by Joan Ackerman, The Scarlet Letter by Carol Gilligan, Summer (adapted from Edith Wharton by Dennis Krausnick) and The Fly-Bottle by David Egan. In 2011, Tina channeled the late journalist Molly Ivins in the one-woman show Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins. In 2013, she performed Women of Will: The Overview and Women of Will, The Complete Journey: Parts I-V for five months Off-Broadway with her acting partner, Nigel Gore. The Complete Journey ran at CSF in the summer of 2012 (along with Richard III, directed by Tina) before going on to the Prague Shakespeare Festival in the Czech Republic. Knopf will publish her book, Women of Will, in the fall of 2014. Tina trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and was an associate artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She also has worked for the BBC and ITV television companies and in film. (2 seasons)
