The rarely performed play Richard II comes to Boulder through a high-quality filming of a live performance straight from Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Starring David Tennant, the play recounts the troubled reign of Richard II and is the backstory to the Henry IV plays (read synopsis here). National Theatre Live: Macbeth w/Kenneth Branagh

National Theatre Live will broadcast Manchester International Festival’s electrifying production of Macbeth, with Kenneth Branagh in his first Shakespeare performance in over a decade as Macbeth, and Alex Kingston (Doctor Who, ER) as Lady Macbeth. 

Directed by Olivier and Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford and BAFTA Award-winner Kenneth Branagh, this unique production of Shakespeare’s tragic tale of ambition and treachery unfolds within the walls of an intimate deconsecrated Manchester church. 

As a part of the National Theatre Live series, “Macbeth” will be recorded live and shown on a delayed basis. The Sie FilmCenter is the exclusive Denver-area venue for this thrilling series of great plays. 

Simulcast in full HD and 5.1 Surround Sound. Tickets are $15 for DFS Members, $16 for Seniors or Students, $18 for General Admission.
